It was in 1993, with the filming of Mesmer getting underway, that Alan Rickman began keeping a diary in earnest, often adding colourful illustrations. While ostensibly recording a plethora of social and everyday events alongside his filming schedule they reveal over the course of 22 years a man keen on fine food and travel, with a network of celebrity friends and candid opinions on a variety of films and theatre shows.
